Drivers in Harvey, New Orleans, and Metairie can read about this new pickup with our comprehensive 2021 Ford Ranger review from Bohn Ford.
Ranger Engine and Performance
The Ranger comes with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine delivers substantial power for around-town driving or towing and hauling.
On the road, the Ranger has sharp steering and composed handling, giving it more of a crossover feel. Off-road, the Ranger can tackle different terrain and navigates the rugged environment well, especially with the performance add-ons. You can opt for the Tremor, FX2, or FX4 packages for more capability, but standalone features like a Terrain Management System™, skid plates, and crawl control are available. Properly equipped, the Ranger can tow up to 7,400 pounds.
Ranger Interior Space and Comfort
The Ranger is available in a SuperCab extended cab that pairs with a 6-foot bed, or a SuperCrew® crew cab that pairs with a 5-foot bed. Depending on the configuration, the Ranger can haul between 1,560 and 1,860 pounds. You’ll find numerous storage cubbies in the cabin for small-item storage.
The Ranger can accommodate five passengers in the SuperCrew® model and four in the SuperCab model. Both offer ample headroom and legroom relative to their size, but the SuperCrew® is the best choice if you’re going to have passengers regularly. Several features are available to enhance the interior, including dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, and remote start.
Ranger Technology and Safety
The highly intuitive SYNC® system is standard for the Ranger, while the upgraded SYNC® 3 infotainment system is optional. The system features large, responsive touch icons and a user-friendly interface that’s easy to learn and use. Bluetooth® connectivity and a Wi-Fi hot spot are also standard, but you can upgrade with navigation, HD Radio™, satellite radio, premium sound, and an 8-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ are also optional, giving you the opportunity to sync your smartphone with the onboard system to play music, podcasts, or audiobooks on the go.
Numerous safety features are included with the Ranger, such as a rearview camera and Ford’s MyKey® system, which allows you to set driving speed and volume controls for young and inexperienced drivers. Forward-collision warning is also standard, which alerts you to potential frontal crashes and applies the brakes automatically. Parking sensors and adaptive cruise control, which will adjust your cruising speed to maintain a safe distance on the highway, are also available.
