Ford Expedition Engine Specs & Performance

2020 Ford Expedition

While the details are still coming out about the 2021 Ford Expedition, there’s some details that we’re excited to share! The previous year model came outfitted with the 3.5L EcoBoost® V6. This turbocharged V6 engine gave this full-size SUV some impressive abilities. This engine was able to boast 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque while giving the SUV the ability to tow up to 6,600 pounds.

For 2021, we can expect to see the same engine selection, but with a possible retooling to extend its abilities with towing, as well as a slight increase with horsepower and torque.

Cabin Space & Cargo Capacity

The Expedition is the largest SUV in the Ford lineup. There hasn’t been a redesign to the body, so it’s safe to say that last year’s dimensions and capacities will carry over to 2021. This includes 171.9 cubic feet of passenger space for up to eight riders over three rows of seating. The rear offers 20.9 cubic feet of cargo space, but folding down the third row nets 63.6 cubic feet. However, folding down the last two rows gives the Expedition 104.6 cubic feet of total cargo space.

2021 Expedition Technology

2020 Ford Expedition InteriorThere’s some exciting new technology features making their way to the 2021 Ford Expedition. It comes standard with the SYNC® 3 system, which is an 8-inch touchscreen display that lets you select your media options and cabin features for the road. However, the 2021 Ford Expedition also introduces the available SYNC® 4, which is a large and high-resolution touchscreen that you can add to your SUV. It offers a faster response and more connectivity options.

The 2021 Expedition also includes the Ford CoPilot360™ suite of driver-assisting technology features that will use exterior sensors to measure the speed of the SUV, its rate of approach, and even its position on the road. It’ll use these measurements to trigger a warning and provide braking mitigation to help reduce the severity of a collision or lane departure on the road!
