2020 Ford Mustang Performance
The 2020 Ford Mustang power varies, depending on the engine that’s selected. It comes standard with the 2.3L EcoBoost® engine, which is turbocharged and capable of delivering up to 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.
Opting for the GT Fastback will push the Ford Mustang performance further. This trim includes the 5.0L V8 engine, which boasts 460 horsepower—480 horsepower in the BULLITT trim—and 420 lb-ft of torque.
While this engine selection is impressive, the Mustang’s performance doesn’t stop there. You can boost the oomph of the 2020 Ford Mustang’s powertrain to 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque with the 5.2L V8 (Shelby GT350®).
Of course, the Shelby GT500® trim offers the most Ford Mustang power with 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque from the 5.2L supercharged V8.
2020 Ford Mustang Design
The Ford Mustang design and appearance has varied throughout the years and undergone a variety of iterations with each generation. The current 2020 Ford Mustang design encompasses smooth curves, a cascading roof, a sleek hood, and a contemporary front fascia and grille, with the iconic Mustang emblem placed front and center.
Drivers looking for a blast from the past—but with a view of the future—may want to consider the BULLITT trim, which is named after the iconic Steve McQueen film that features the Ford Mustang. This trim includes a Deep Green design, Red brake calipers, and sophisticated interior features.

In-Cabin Features & Technology
The 2020 Mustang comes with the SYNC® system, which is a voice-recognizing touchscreen display that you can use to select your media options for the road. It also includes FordPass™, which is a system that connects your vehicle to your phone, so you can unlock or locate your vehicle remotely.
You can upgrade to SYNC® 3, which is a larger touchscreen display that also comes with a 6-month trial subscription of SiriusXM™ Radio. This feature gives you access to more than 500 different channels of varying entertainment like music, news, sports, comedy, and talk radio.
You can also opt for the Voice-Activated Navigation System with pinch-to-zoom capability. This feature lets you vocally put in your destination, while it provides you with turn-by-turn directions to and displays your GPS location.
Cabin Comforts & Style
The interior of the Ford Mustang offers plenty of comforts to its driver and passengers. It features cloth front bucket seats. The EcoBoost® Premium Fastback includes the leather-trimmed front bucket seats, but they can be swapped out for the RECARO® leather-trimmed seats. The BULLITT trim includes leather seats, with Dark Highland Green accent stitching for added style.
For added comfort, you can opt for the dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control. This is a great feature if you and your passenger have differing temperature preferences.
Available Driver-Assisting Features
You have the option to include some driver-assisting features through the Ford Co-Pilot360™ system. This network of safety features uses exterior-mounted sensors that measure the distance from the vehicle ahead, while factoring your rate of approach to the vehicle.
The appropriate system can activate and provide a warning, as well as braking assistance. These features include:
- Pre-Collision System with Automatic Emergency Braking: When the system detects a possible collision, it can warn you and apply enough brake pressure to reduce the force of impact. It can also provide you with a window of time to stop the vehicle and avoid the collision.
- Lane Keeping System: If the sensors detect that you’re beginning to veer out of your lane without signaling, it can alert you and apply brake pressure to prevent you from drifting further.
- Reverse Sensing System: Rear sensors will detect and alert you of objects in your path while you’re in reverse.
