March was a record-setting month for the 2012 Ford Escape. Dealers around the country moved 22,679 units in the third month of the year, putting the 2012 Escape 3,000 units ahead of its 2011 predecessor. The thing is - the 2013 Escape is set to roll into the Don Bohn Ford showroom by the end of the month.
Will people have had enough of the Escape by then? It doesn't look like it. Customers have already pre-ordered more than 8,000 of the third-generation of this lineup favorite.
We want to underline that the 2013 Ford Escape is very different from any version you've seen before. It's been rounded out, streamlined, and Ford has stuffed it with technology. Some of these features include a class-exclusive hands-free liftgate, SYNC with MyFord Touch, active park assist, Intelligent Access with push-button start, and an available Intelligent 4WD system.
Meanwhile, Ford decided that this would be the perfect CUV to put their latest EcoBoost engines in. Choices include the traditional 2.5-liter Duratec four-cylinder engine. But the 1.6- and 2.0-liter EcoBoost engines further boost fuel efficiency, especially when mated to the six-speed automatic transmission. Even so, with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost, towing capacity of the 2013 Escape is rated at just about 3,500 pounds, so you can be sure you'll get all of the performance without compromising at the gas pump.
With all that in mind, it's not so surprising to hear that so many people have ordered the new Escape before even getting a chance to drive it.
Whether you're ready to place your order now, or you'd rather wait to take one for a spin, Don Bohn Ford is here to help. Simply contact us via our website at your convenience. Or, stop by and see us later this spring at 3737 Lapalco Blvd Harvey, LA 70058. A member of our team is always happy to explain why Ford says the new Escape is "the smarter way to get there."1
